La presidenta regional, Esperanza Aguirre, acompañada por el vicepresidente y consejero de Cultura y Deporte, Ignacio González, inauguró ayer la exposición La cápsula del tiempo. Del Absolutismo al Liberalismo en los cimientos de Cervantes, en la Real Casa de Correos,en la Puerta del Sol, que estará abierta hasta el 15 de septiembre.La muestra presenta a los madrileños el contenido de la cápsula del tiempo de 1834, encontrada en diciembre de 2009 bajo la base original de la estatua de Cervantes en la Plaza de las Cortes, y se enmarca en las acciones de difusión del patrimonio histórico que el Gobierno regional está desarrollando en 2010 para celebrar los 25 años transcurridos desde que la Comunidad Autónoma asumió las competencias en esta área.
Unas actividades que comenzaron en el mes de enero con la presentación del libro ilustrado Madrid antes del hombre. A lo largo de este tiempo, el Ejecutivo regional ha venido desarrollando una importante labor de conservación, restauración y difusión del legado histórico madrileño.
Un legado de 1834
El 15 de diciembre de 2009 los arqueólogos extrajeron del pedestal de la estatua de Cervantes una caja de plomo, herméticamente sellada, descubierta durante las obras de remodelación de la Plaza de las Cortes de Madrid. La cápsula se depositó en el Museo Arqueológico Regional (MAR) donde fue abierta. El cofre había sido depositado 175 años antes, el 11 de diciembre de 1834, repleto de objetos que darían a conocer la España de la época a quien pudiera abrirla en el futuro.
Ahora La cápsula del tiempo. Del Absolutismo al Liberalismo en los cimientos de Cervantes, exposición coordinada científicamente por Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza, reconocido especialista en el periodo, pretende explicar el contexto social e histórico de la creación de la cápsula. Para ello, junto a los objetos originales, se han utilizado las más modernas tecnologías, para conseguir una visión lo más cercana posible: proyecciones 3D, realidad aumentada 3D, proyección sobre objetos -mapeado-, interactividad o altavoces direccionales por ultrasonido, entre otras.

La muestra comprende 43 piezas originales y más de 300 digitalizadas, distribuidas en siete estancias diferenciadas. En la entrada, los visitantes recibirán un folleto informativo sobre la muestra, en español e inglés, y unas gafas polarizadas para ver las distintas piezas presentadas en 3D. También podrán contemplar una serie de fotografías que recogen algunos momentos de la excavación que permitió encontrar la cápsula.
En la primera estancia de la muestra, bajo el epígrafe 'La cápsula del tiempo', hay un retrato original del autor de la estatua de Cervantes, Antonio Solá, el recipiente original de la cápsula y 41 de las piezas que se encontraron en su interior -dos ejemplares de la Gaceta de madrid, un ejemplar del discurso pronunciado por Mª Cristina en 1834, un ejemplar del Estatuto Real para la convocatoria de las Cortes del Reino en 1834, además de monedas o medallas, entre otras- . La sala se complementa con proyecciones que muestran los trabajos de excavación, de la apertura de la cápsula y de la restauración de los objetos.
Una segunda y tercera estancia se presenta la vida cotidiana del la época y cómo era el Madrid de los años finales del reinado de Fernando VII e iniciales del de Isabel II. Los tres siguientes apartados de la exposición recogen el desarrollo de la primera Guerra Carlista; la financiación del sistema de Gobierno de los carlistas y las publicaciones de la época como el Boletín del Ejército del Rey Don Carlos 5º en Navarra, la Gaceta Oficial, El Joven Observador, El Restaurador Catalán o La Cabra facciosa.
